Resources

The single best resource for materials to support educators in their quest for improving their school through the use of backward design is Jay McTighe himself.  His website is an accumulation of materials, articles, books, and videos that he has either written or collected over the years.  There is a wealth of information on his resource page.  https://jaymctighe.com/resources/

In addition to the book’s bibliography, below are some other resources organized topically for you to consider.

Mission

mission statement (noun) – a formal summary of the aims and values of a company, organization, or individual.

A good mission statement can inspire and transform a school. It can provide a clearly stated purpose and goals of the organization. Mission statements are the most effective when they go hand-in-hand with the school’s philosophy and culture and can serve as a guide for the present and future.
